I just sat for 7 minutes and watched a video that has truly moved my heart and reminded me of something. So often it is so easy to become....complacent. It is easy to get wrapped up in "church", that we honestly forget what we are commissioned to do and that is to share with others about the saving grace of Christ. This season is more than just snowflakes and warm feelings. It is about a Savior who came to give us life by dying for us. Taking the ultimate sacrifice. To save us from what? From Hell.
How many of us truly grasp that concept? What Hell really means? It is total separation from God. Some believe that they live without God here, it will be no different. The difference is...here on earth, God's presence is still around because He lives in those who are HIS followers, those who trusted and accepted HIS gift. Hell is NO presence of God. Emptiness, hopelessness, aloneness, pain, fear, paranoia....nothingness.
There is an urgency beyond the wrapping paper and tinsel. There is an urgency. An urgency that caused God to send Jesus to die so that we could have the chance of reconciliation with HIM. The chance to be united with HIM once again. There is an urgency.
