Friday, August 10th was a day of storms. I was reminded of the famous movie Twister with Helen Hunt where they chased tornado's all day. August 10th was our day of storms and tornado's. The kids and I were in the basement when Matt called and shared that a tornado was going over head. So, we sat in the basement and Joshua, Faith and I prayed to God, thanking Him for the house He gave us and that we finally had a basement.
After a few hours the storm "seemed" to stop and the sun appeared. So, the kids and I made our way to Walmart to pick up some groceries. As we stood at the check out, having our items scanned....that's right, they came in the store and over the began announcing over the speakers, "All employees and patrons please make your way to the fitting rooms in the middle of the store."
Joshua looked outside with this look of "trepidation" on his face as we made our way to the middle of the store. Storms have become an "INTENSE FEAR" for him. I shared with Matt that I had been praying that he does not begin to have "agoraphobia" where he does not want to go outside. Every time the wind would blow he would become afraid.
We stopped in the middle of the store and I put my arms around the kids and we began to pray to Jesus....we prayed that He would protect us, everyone in the store and Daddy at home. When we finished my little sedulous prayer, warrior of the winds, believer in the Almighty said in a loud voice, "It's okay, it will be over when the rain stops. JESUS is here!"
Ringing in my ears are, "It's okay....Jesus is here!" How we sometimes forget that in the storms of our lives that JESUS is right here with us. He hasn't left us. He has promised to stand with us, protect us, deliver us.

"Is anyone crying for help? God is listening, ready to rescue you. If your heart is broken, you'll find God right there; if you're kicked in the gut, he'll help you catch your breath."
May we cling to Him always.
As you all know, my dear beloved has a heart condition and that he will need to have heart surgery. Can I say that we are scared? I would be lying if I did not share that. Yet, August 10th reminded me of something so powerful, and that is "Jesus is here." My heart has also been clinging to the TRUE story of the father who came to Jesus, asking him to come and heal his daughter. While away, his daughter died. Jesus looked at the man as he heard the news and told him to keep on believing. (Luke 8:40-53)
No matter the circumstance you find yourself standing in...it may seem "dead" to you, or impossible...keep believing. Our God is the God who makes the impossible, possible. (to quote my husband.)
Much Love,
Angel Thompson
Know I am praying always for each of you!
Know I am praying always for each of you!

"My response is to get down on my knees before the Father, this magnificent Father who parcels out all heaven and earth. I ask him to strengthen you by his Spirit—not a brute strength but a glorious inner strength—that Christ will live in you as you open the door and invite him in. And I ask him that with both feet planted firmly on love, you'll be able to take in with all followers of Jesus the extravagant dimensions of Christ's love. Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights! Live full lives, full in the fullness of God."
